Earthworm
Farming - "Worm Farming" review

Honestly, the idea of earthworm farming as a
career choice or even as a hobby had never occurred to me. I
only stumbled upon the "Worm Farming" eBook because I was
researching additional ways of incorporating green living into
my and my family's lifestyle. The idea of an earthworm farm
sounded intriguing and I knew my twin 9 year old boys would
love it. Since the product was so affordable and came with a 60
day guarantee, I purchased it that very day.
Thankfully, for those who have absolutely no
idea of what it means to start earthworm farming, this
eBook is geared towards beginners. I was surprised to find out
that most of the tools needed to start an earthworm farm where
already in my household. With the addition of worms, I had a
very small start up cost.
The section on the worm farm design helped us
actually get set up in a few hours after purchasing the
supplies we needed. Instructions were easy to follow and
detailed enough that beginners feel comfortable with setting up
the worm bins, checking the soil's moisture level and
giving worms the proper food.

I followed the suggestions in the eBook and
started out with red worms, the guided section on creating a
vermicompost bin worked great. The kids and I added mainly
fruit and vegetables as was recommended and it was fantastic to
not be assaulted with smells of rotting fruits and vegetables
every time we came into the kitchen. I think the eBook would
have been even better if it had provided a detailed listing of
what to feed the worms. However, the section on which food
items to avoid completely was superbly written and really
cleared up the issue for us.
I really liked how the earthworm farming
eBook emphasized green living. After starting our worm farm we
were so surprised at how much we were able to reduce our weekly
trash output. Saving on compost and fertilizer also left us
with extra money that we could put towards our
family.
As our production of worms increased into the
thousands, the information in the eBook really explained what
to look for to make sure the worms were getting enough to eat
and how to use the organic fertilizer they created. We also
created additional worm farms and used different types of
worms. I couldn't believe how much bigger and healthier looking
the food in our garden looked after using worm compost from our
very own earthworm farming efforts. It was also great to know
that our food had been raised chemical free.

Though this isn't a complaint, I was actually
surprised that the eBook didn't include more information on the
types of businesses that one might create after starting a worm
farm. However, it did provide just enough on this subject to
get me motivated to turn this into a profitable way of earning
extra income.
In our country town, fishing is extremely
popular; we started offering fresh earthworms to local
fisherman and retail bait sellers. The eBook was great with
showing how to effectively create a marketing campaign. I was
so surprised at how well marketing through the newspaper and
setting up a booth at the local farmers market worked to get
information on our family owned worm business out to potential
customers.
I also want to say that my twin boys
immediately started having fun with the project. They liked it
so much they created an earthworm farm for their 4th grade
science project. Since we started earthworm farming, it has
been so much easier to get them interested in green living and
earth science. I am also glad to say their grades have really
improved too!
